We protect your account in a few ways:
PIN (PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER):
- You'll need your 4-digit PIN to log into the app in addition to your mobile phone number (your user name)
- For login issues, we'll send you a confirmation code via push notification to reset your PIN
PUK (PIN UNLOCKING KEY):
- Find your 6-digit PUK in the reference line of the 0,01 EUR transfer we send to your reference account
- Your first PUK was sent to you when you first signed up for an account
- Each PUK is single use, so we'll automatically send you a new PUK via a 0,01 EUR transfer once you've used it
- Always make sure to use the newest PUK
Please note: if you're using a prepaid card with an IBAN, you'll need to download a bank statement to find your 6-digit PUK.
LOCK FEATURES:
- Your phone has a PIN, pattern, face, or fingerprint recognition lock, which must be unlocked in order to gain access to the apps on your phone.
- Your Trade Republic app also has a 4-digit PIN or face/fingerprint recognition, which is mandatory for a login. Since your PUK (in the reference line of the 0,01 EUR transfer sent to your linked bank account) is still required to make some changes to your account, fraudsters cannot make changes to your account or pay money out to an unknown account.
If you forgot your PIN, you can reset it following these steps:
- Tap on Forgot your PIN? at the bottom left of the PIN entry field
- Find the SMS containing your confirmation code
- Enter the code
- Check the reset pin email
- Click on “confirm” in the email using the same device
- Add the last four digits of the document used for KYC (Residence permit, passport, ID card, DL, Paper ID)
- Click next
- Create a new PIN and confirm it
If you have a new phone number, you'll need to update your phone number in the app before logging in.
