What do I have to consider when transferring a securities account to Trade Republic?

Please note the following information before you order a securities account transfer to Trade Republic:

Availability of securities:

Before transferring your securities account, make sure that all the securities you want to transfer are tradable at Trade Republic. To do this, go to the search in the app and check whether there’s a hit for the respective security. Positions that aren’t tradable at Trade Republic will be rejected and automatically returned to the surrendering custodian.

Transfer of fractional stocks:

Transfers of fractional shares are not possible for technical reasons.

Change of Creditor:

For an incoming securities transfer, you must be the owner of both the securities account at the originating bank and the account at Trade Republic. A securities transfer with a change of creditor is currently not possible. However, incoming transfers from joint accounts are possible.

Transfer of acquisition data:

Some custodian banks don’t transfer acquisition prices. Please inform yourself about this in advance at your previous custodian bank.

Investing in the stock markets carries risk: the value of investments can go up as well as down and you may receive back less than your original investment. Individual investors should make their own decisions or seek independent advice.
