In the Events section of an instrument, we inform you about all important dates for individual securities, such as the annual general meeting, the publication of financial reports, earnings calls and dividend events.
The Events section only shows up if we have events data for that stock. You’ll find:
- Upcoming events: what they are and when they will take place
- Current events: events that are happening right now (for example, an earnings call)
- Past events: including dates and what the event was about
Tap on a current event in order to participate in it or tap the section header to see an extensive list of upcoming or past events.
Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting (also: shareholders' Meeting) is an annual gathering of interested shareholders to inform and vote on the current state as well as the future direction of a listed company. The Executive Board attends this mandatory meeting to provide information on the company's performance and strategy. Shareholders with voting rights have the opportunity to vote on individual agenda items at the event, such as:
- the election of members to the Supervisory Board
- the compensation of management positions
- dividend payments
- the election of the auditor
- Financial reports ("Financials Release")
Listed companies are subject to certain regulations, such as an obligation to provide information on their respective financial position. As a rule, they report on their own performance on a quarterly basis. These interim reports contain key figures such as the company's revenues, earnings per stock or quarterly profit. These key figures provide investors with insight into the financial health of a company, making it easier for them to weigh up whether an investment should be made.
Earnings Calls
An earnings call is a conference call between the management of a publicly traded company, analysts, investors and public media to discuss the financial results of the most recent period (e.g. quarterly results). An earnings call is usually preceded by the publication of the financial report. This contains a summary of the company's performance in the past period.
Dividends
If a stock trades "ex-dividend", this refers to the date on which the dividend discount is reflected in the stock price. As a result of the dividend payout, the company records cash outflows that are directly reflected in the stock price on the ex-dividend date. The dividend date expresses this day in the securities profile under the financial events. An investor's dividend entitlement is determined by the number of stocks held on the night of the ex-date. If the investor buys stocks of the company on the ex-dividend day where the stock is traded ex-dividend or afterwards, these stocks aren’t taken into account for the dividend payment.
