First of all, you need to check if the order has been executed or not. Once you’ve successfully created an order, you’ll find details of all executed orders in Cash > Transactions. If your order hasn’t yet been executed, you’ll be able to see it via Wealth > scroll down to Orders & Insights > select Orders.
Here are a few reasons why your order wasn’t executed:
- If it’s a market order, in very rare cases, there may be no units of the security you wish to buy currently available on the market. Your order will be executed as soon as a sufficient volume becomes available.
- For limit orders, it’s usually because the market price hasn’t yet reached the limit price of your order.
- In the case of stop orders, it’s usually because the market price hasn’t yet reached the stop price of your order.
- For sell orders, the bid price is the one to watch, while buy orders are executed at the ask price. The market maker isn’t obliged to execute the order.
- In the event of a trading suspension, a stock may be halted by the authorities due to concerns about the company's financial information.
