With distributions, a distinction is made between dividends and reinvestment.
Dividends are a portion of the company's profit that is paid out to shareholders. The amount is decided at the Annual General Meeting.
The situation is different with retained earnings. Here, the company decides to reinvest the profit, i.e. not to distribute it as dividends. As a result, the value of the ETF increases, but you do not receive a distribution of profits.
